The “Denner” is a special Cub Scout selected to assist the Den Leaders at meetings.  This is a position of honor and responsibility each Scout will get a chance to perform.  When your child is the Denner, he will wear a special gold double shoulder cord on the left shoulder of his uniform. Assistant Denner has a single cord.

Suggested Denner/ASST Denner responsibilities include:
1. Leads Pledge of Allegiance and Scout Promise.
2. Wears the Denner cord.
3. Assists Den Leaders with activities and craft projects.
4. Assists with set-up work before the meeting and clean-up after the meeting.
5. Provides treat, drink, and napkin for each scout.
6. Assists in the closing ceremonies of the meeting.
7. Lead the prayer

Denners and assistants should serve for a month. After which will recieve the Denner tab alone, for wear as an award.  

Parents:  When it is your son’s turn to be the “Denner,” please plan for at least one parent or guardian to participate in the Den meeting.  This will be an opportunity for you to support your Scout and to learn what he is doing.  If you or your Scout cannot attend the date which has been assigned, it is your responsibility to exchange dates with another Scout and notify the Den Leaders of the change.
